Residential installations in China in 2021 and 2022
China is expected to install 24 GW of decentralised power to be installed in 2021, followed by the
double by 2022, to 48 GW of residential and commercial solar power. The reason for this interest in distributed installations is the high price of land in the eastern regions of the country. The strongest growth comes from the professional sector, which will triple next year.

Editor's note There is a worldwide trend towards distributed or residential installations, as this type of installation seems to be more adapted to the logic of use: local production for local consumption (The demand for residential solar energy is strong in 2020, Advocacy for rooftop solar installations, Residential installations would be more interesting than central ones). Only, it seems that China is ahead of Western implementations. They have launched such installations while the benefits are still being discussed...
