France ranked 4th worldwide for its attractiveness in the RE sector

EY estimates that France ranks 4th in the world for its attractiveness in the renewable energy sector, behind the United States, China and India.

EY welcomes the French government's commitment to develop

a wind energy zone off the Atlantic coast which will give rise to maritime tenders. EY notes that the French government has decided to devote 7 billion euros to the Hydrogen Plan between now and 2030.

The State wanted to strengthen its support for research and development but also by accompanying real industrial projects related to hydrogen.

Worldwide, EY estimates that 23.7 GW of renewable energy will be purchased under PPAs in 2020. Investment in renewable energy increased by 2% to $303 billion last year. By comparison, investment in the oil sector has fallen to around $350 billion in 2020.
