The new HZB research building (in Berlin)
The new research building of HZB (Berlin) has been covered on three facades with CIGS panels with a power
50 kW overall
The main technological feature of the installation is the suspension used, which has been concealed. This allows for a frameless design without a border at the edge of the panel.
The panels are installed in landscape format. Two horizontal rails are glued to the glass on the back of each panel (i.e. without frames or screws). Two vertical rails on these back rails contain two rods used to hang the panels on the wall. The panels are hung in front of the cladding using a rail system, so that a small air space is created between the panel and the thermal insulation
