Brazil could install between 20 and 43 GW of solar energy

The Brazilian state agency EPE estimates that the country could install between 20 and 43 GW of solar energy, mainly in distributed installations of less than 5 MW.

The Brazilian Chamber of Deputies recently approved Bill 5829/19, which creates the new regulatory framework for distributed generation. The law is now being discussed by the Senate. It is expected to be enacted in 2021, which will give more predictability and legal certainty to the sector.
