In the UK, the 50 MW cap should be raised

The UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is considering changes to the planning regime for solar sites over 50MW, as well as energy storage projects

which are also increasing in the country. The government is seeking to facilitate the growth of solar projects larger than 50 MW, which are currently subject to a rigorous and lengthy approval process.

Editor's note: Ever the pragmatist, the UK has found that the 50 MW level is not high enough to minimise the average cost of electricity generated. They are therefore considering raising the ceiling.
