Manufacturers' offensive to standardise wafer size to be relaunched

Three manufacturers (LONGi, JA Solar and JinkoSolar) launch a campaign to standardise panels

around the M10 format of 182 mm square. This relates to the size of the panels, the spacing of the mounting holes. Other standardisations will be introduced to facilitate panel installations

Editor's note: After having decided to switch to the 166 mm (M6) format, LONGi has switched to the M10 format. However, this format is being challenged by the 210 mm M12 format, which seems to be the future standard because it allows for more electricity production. On the other hand, this M12 format creates large panel sizes.

These efforts to impose wafer and panel sizes indicate that the adoption of these standards is very useful for the industrial success of these manufacturers
