In 2020, renewables produced more energy than nuclear power worldwide, says annual study
of BP.
Nuclear power expanded strongly around the world between 1965 and 2007. Since then, the expansion of renewable energy has been rapid. Last year, for the first time, RE produced more energy than nuclear. It should be remembered that 2020 was the year of the pandemic, during which energy needs were reduced, while RE was still favoured for injection into the grid
