Chinese Industry Brief: Tongwei Silicon Plant, Golden Glass Plant, Jinko and CSI Solar Listing

Silicon supplier Tongwei to build new silicon plant

of 200,000 tonnes in Leshan (Wuhua district). The investment will cost RMB 14 billion ($2.1 billion). The construction will be done in two phases; the first 100,000 tonnes will be commissioned at the end of 2022.

Tongwei has a total capacity of 80,000 MT of silicon and 150,000 MT under construction. By the end of 2022, the company will have a total polysilicon capacity of 330,000 MT

Chinese manufacturer Golden Glass is planning to set up a 1.2 GW heterojunction cell and panel production line in Wujiang District (near Suzhou, Jiangsu Province). The company wants to invest RMB 832 million ($129 million) in the plant and start construction "soon". Completion is expected in eight months. Manufacturing is expected to begin by the end of February 2022.

Jinko and Canadian Solar prepare to list major parts of their group on the Shanghai Stock Exchange

Jinko wants to list its main company, Jinko Solar Co Ltd, on the stock exchange to finance a factory in Haining capable of producing 7.5 GW of cells per year and/or 5 GW of modules.

Canadian Solar's Chinese solar manufacturing and power plant business, CSI Solar, will be listed on the stock exchange.
