From 2023, all new buildings in Berlin will have to install a PV system on at least 30% of the roof surface. The new provisions of the law apply to all new buildings as well as to major renovations of the roofs of existing buildings with a usable area of more than 50 square metres. Residential buildings will have to have a 2 kW PV system for two flats, 3 kW for residential buildings with three to five flats, and 6 kW systems for six to ten flats.
