Increasing the recycling rate of panels
The European Union is funding a €4.8m research project on end-of-life panels.
The aim is to recover all the components of a PV panel, and therefore to increase the recovery rate from the current 85-90% to 100% if possible. The aim is to be ready for a volume of panels to be processed of 5,000 tonnes per year by 2023. Veolia is in charge of the project
