The third largest port in the United States wants to produce hydrogen

The third largest port in the US, Corpus Christi, has signed a memorandum of understanding with investor Ares to produce 9,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year,

with 260 MW of solar energy and 840 MWh of storage

The size of individual electrolyser projects is increasing rapidly. Today, most electrolysers have a capacity of less than 10 megawatts (MW). By 2025, an average plant will have a capacity of 100 to 500 MW, producing hydrogen for directly connected consumers. By 2030, the size of the plants will increase to 1 GW and more, combined with large-scale projects producing hydrogen for export to countries where electricity is cheap.
