In the third quarter, France connected 287 MW (= 3rd quarter 2019).

In the third quarter, France connected approximately 287 MW, i.e. 60% more than in the second quarter, which was marked by the shutdown related to the containment, according to FranceTerritoire Solaire. (Editor's note One year ago, the installations had reached 280 MW. This means that they are stagnating from one year to the next.).

The connections

for total or partial self-consumption concern 7,000 installations.

-With 27 MW, residential installations of less than 9 kWp have reached a level not seen for six years.

- The 9 to 100 kW segment recorded a very strong increase with 84 MW installed

- The 100 to 250 KW segment registers 15 MW

- Large roofs (250 to 1 MW) collect only 8 MW.

- Very large installations > 1 MW have only 155 MW more

- Photovoltaic technology provided 4.6% of gross electricity consumption in France

- Installations awaiting authorisation and under construction exceed 7.5 GW

The combined total of installations connected to the RTE and Enedis networks (9.5 GW) and to the ELD networks (approximately 0.5 GW) exceeds the 10 GW mark put into operation in mainland France. With these 10 GW installed, 10 years after the moratorium, France is a quarter of the way towards the EPP's 2028 objectives.

Editor's note The stability of installations between 2019 and 2020 means that while some categories show a strong increase, others suffer a decline, but are not mentioned.
