In Holland, agreement to connect new power stations more quickly

Dutch solar energy associations, grid operators and electricity suppliers have reached an agreement for faster connection of solar parks to the grid. Operators of photovoltaic power plants will be able to connect their projects to 70% of their capacity without having to wait for the grid to become more available.

The 70% rate was determined because "a peak production of more than 70% only occurs about 3% of the time each year".

This would be a consequence of the net available capacity which has become increasingly problematic in the Netherlands. Several regions have saturated electricity grids. Therefore, limiting injection to 70% allows more electricity producers to be accommodated.

This agreement should be of little use because the SDE + programme has programmed an additional production of 12 GW of energy.
