Editor's note La Française de l'Energie is first and foremost a producer of gas that it draws from the coal galleries of north-eastern France. It transforms this gas (CH4) or firedamp into heat that heats water. The latter is used in buildings located within a radius of a few kilometres.

The company is moving towards photovoltaic energy. Hence what appears to be the first award by the CRE. The company has entered into an exclusive partnership with Total Quadran to develop, build and operate photovoltaic power generation sites in the Hauts-de-France and Grand Est regions.

Its 2019 turnover is €8 million.
