Reopening of REC Silicon? silicon plant
REC Silicon had closed its silicon production plant at Moses Lake in the second quarter of 2019. It may re-open it
following several agreements: it has just signed an agreement to supply solar-grade silicon to an American customer who wants to set up a production line for silicon anodes for lithium-ion batteries. In October, it signed a cooperation agreement with a young company that wants to create a non-Chinese solar silicon supply chain. Finally, a tax dispute has just been resolved.
