Northvolt raises $600 million

Northvolt has raised $600 million to expand its research and development, and to create

a recycling plant since Northvolt wants to source half of its production from recycled batteries within ten years.

The 40 GWh plant located in Skellefteå, Sweden should start production next year. Plant No. 2 in Salzgitter, Germany, is expected to open in 2024 with an annual capacity of 16 GWh.
