US RE excluding hydroelectricity in 2020 represents only 13% of consumption
From January to July 2020 (over seven months) in the United States, solar energy accounted for nearly 3.4% of total national production (compared with 2.6% last year). Wind energy
contributes 8.5%. Coal has fallen by 30% over the last year and provides only 17.8% of market share.
Over this period, renewable energies, excluding hydroelectricity, provided 13% of total consumption, compared with 11% in 2019. With hydropower, renewables provided 21.2% of total electricity production, compared with 19.2% a year ago.
