Sydney is now powered entirely by renewable energy.
The city of Sydney now runs entirely on renewable energy from wind and solar farms in the Australian state of New South Wales. All of Sydney's activities - including street lighting, swimming pools,
Sydney's sports fields, depots, buildings and historic City Hall - will now run on 100% renewable electricity from local solar and wind projects. This use of RE will save the city up to half a million dollars a year over the next ten years and reduce carbon emissions by around 20,000 tonnes a year,
