A solar machine to produce disinfectant

The French PV company Solea has developed a system that can produce 8 to 16 litres of solar-powered disinfectant solution a day, or

32 litres when running on mains electricity. The disinfectant based on sodium hypochlorite is produced by electrolysis of a solution of water and salt. The disinfectant solution can be stored for up to two weeks in tanks or for several weeks in the refrigerator. Users will no longer be dependent on external supplies and can use this solution directly to disinfect surfaces or to wash their hands by diluting it with water.

Solea is specialised in the development of health infrastructures in Africa.

Last month, the young German company SunCrafter presented a solar-powered hand disinfection device.
