Digital directory installation in France in 2020
The Australian Power Ledger will offer French customers the possibility to choose the type of energy they want. To do this, it uses a digital directory (blockchain) that certifies the origin and source of renewable energy. With its partner
ekWateur, he believes that the more green energy stands out in the energy mix, the faster the transition will accelerate.
In concrete terms, the Vision platform will give consumers the choice to know the origin of the energy they consume: for example, that coming from wind farms on the other side of the country, or from photovoltaic panels on the roof nearby. "Our platform offers consumers the choice and control of their energy source.
Power Ledger will offer this technology throughout France by the end of this year.

Editor's note The obstacle to the development of digital directories is the cost of managing the machines to be used. Initially, the cost is low, then costs increase exponentially.
The initiative can be interesting if consumers are prepared to pay the extra cost. However, after the economic crisis that will follow the health crisis, it is doubtful that there will be many candidates to pay for the surplus of green energy.
