Using lead from batteries to make perovskite cells
Chinese scientists are proposing to use lead from car batteries to make perovskite solar cells. The process involves using lead acetate
in the cathode and anode regions of the battery and mix this material with acetic acid. This would provide high purity lead acetate which functions as an effective precursor for halide perovskite solar cells.
This lead has achieved an efficiency of 17.4%. This is the result of better crystallisation providing high light recovery.
