2019 ranking of Taiwanese photovoltaic panel and inverter manufacturers

TrendForce publishes the 2019 ranking of Taiwanese PV panel and inverter manufacturers.

URE remains the leading shipper of panels,

but he is joined by TSEC which has doubled its deliveries in 2019. Together, they hold 50% of the market.

Delta has a 35% share of the inverter market and has been leading the market for three years.

The future supply of PV panels and inverters could be affected by the coronavirus epidemic, as China supplies the majority of raw materials such as silicon wafers, EVA, aluminium frames and glass. Taiwanese manufacturers' stocks of raw materials could, at best, last until the end of February. Some manufacturers can rely on their factories in South-East Asia for the production of panels and inverters.

With major Chinese ports operating at less than 30% of normal volume, (the port of Shanghai would be at 14%), restrictions on the import/export of goods will significantly reduce the supply of inverters to the Taiwanese market. This will slow down the installation of solar power plants in Taiwan.
