US sunshine down 10% in the first half of 2019

Six months after the 10% decrease in solar energy production compared to the historical average in many places in the United States in the first half of 2019, the American centre Clean Power Research discovers this phenomenon!

These findings come from satellite data collection and the quantification of historical solar insolation. The 1 m² data enables solar energy developers to project into the future and secure financing for power plants. This comes in particular from the first four months of 2019, which were particularly rainy in 48 American states. California, with more than 50% of the country's installed solar energy, saw between 5% and 10% less solar production.
