A method for determining the theoretical contribution of two-sided panels

An American research team has applied to bifacial cells the Shockley-Queisser triangle, which is used to calculate the maximum theoretical efficiency of a monofacial solar cell using a single p-n junction technology.

According to the Purdue University team, "the Shockley-Queisser triangle predicts the thermodynamic efficiency limits of arbitrarily complex multi-junction bifacial solar cells".
