Japan's Kyocera announced that its photovoltaic business - the Life & Environment division - had seen its sales increase by 3% in the first half of 2018-2019 (at the end of September) to 42.1 billion yen. Profitability of solar energy has improved

thanks to the structural reforms implemented in fiscal year 2018 - 2019, which more than offset the increase in R&D spending on accumulators. The sector's net loss declined year-on-year from 6.3 billion yen to 4.9 billion yen.
