Europe could produce three times as much electricity from solar and wind power
Europe could produce three times as much electricity from solar energy as the EU does in 2016; the space required would occupy only 1.4% of the land. Europe could also produce three times as much wind power by occupying 16% of the land. This is the result of a study by the EU's Joint Research Centre (JRC).
