Electricity companies need their own facilities

Essent, a subsidiary of Innogy and thus of the German electricity company RWE, acquires the Belgian panel installer Aralt. The latter achieves a turnover of 5 million euros. Essent noted

a growing interest in residential and commercial photovoltaics, hence this investment.

The RWE Group acquired two Dutch solar installers in January: EnergieWonen Groep and ZON7.

Editor's note Even though the acquisitions are small, they indicate that electricity companies are concerned about their supply and therefore about the construction of photovoltaic plants. They need to reconstitute the ownership of generators as they used to own their coal or gas-fired plants.
